The attendance at the films of the 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival was up 35% from last year! Thank you for being with us

The 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival turned out to be record-breaking when it comes to the size of its audience. To our invitation to BREAK FREE! – from stereotypes and habits with documentary cinema have responded more than 60 000 cinemagoers, in five Polish cities, by going to festival screenings! And 65 000 – is the total number of people participating in the screenings and accompanying festival events! We would like to invite you to the next edition of the biggest celebration of documentary films in Poland. The 16th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival will take place May 10-19 2019!

“Minding the Gap” by Bing Liu receives the Main Award – the Bydgoszcz ART.DOC AWARD of the Bydgoszcz Annex to the 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival!

On Saturday, May 26, in Bydgoszcz, the jury: Michał Bukowiński, Maciej Cuske and Karolina Leśnik chose the recipient of the Main Award – the Bydgoszcz ART.DOC AWARD out of 13 films of the Main Competition. The jury also decided to give two special mentions: the Jury Mention and the District Bar Association in Bydgoszcz Mention.

The winners of the 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival announced!

On May 18 at Teatr Studio in Warsaw took place the Award Ceremony of the 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival. But it’s not the end of the 15th Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival – we still have a weekend of exhilarating film and events ahead of us during the last festival weekend in Warsaw, Wrocław and Lublin. The Gdynia edition takes place until May 25, and the one in Bydgoszcz until May 26.

Two new competitions will take place this year at the Festival

Two new competitions will take place this year at the 15th edition of Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival. One will be “Shades of Freedom” which is organized by Discovery Poland and the Polish National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute, and will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Polish Independence. The other will be VRSAWA competition which is dedicated to VR films – a section currently under development by the Festival and Millennium Bank, the main patron of Millennium Docs Against Gravity Film Festival.

Screening of “Last Men in Aleppo” in the Polish parliament

“There is no way to avoid this comparison: these are pictures from the Warsaw Uprising,” writes Tadeusz Sobolewski about “Last Men in Aleppo.” The film screening will take place in the Polish parliament on Thursday 14th of September at 8 p.m.
