The Tiger Lillies will play on the 10th of May for the festival opening

Thursday, May 10th | 10:30 p.m. | Cafe Kulturalna

The Tiger Lillies

Entry only with opening gala tickets.

Founded in 1989 in London, the Tiger Lillies are a musical trio which combined absurd macabre magic with stylistics of pre-war England into what came to be known as Brechtian Punk Cabaret. The unique falsetto of the group’s accordion playing founder Martyn Jacques emphasizes the surrealistic nature of their work, sometimes resulting in a comedic effect and sometimes becoming something more ominous, dark. With faces painted like clowns, The Tiger Lillies are known for unique and unforgettable live performances. In Poland the band has been made famous by Karolina Czarnecka, who’s interpretation of their song “Heroin and Cocaine” into “Hera, Koka, Hasz, LSD” became an instant internet hit.

The 15th edition of Millennium Docs Against Gravity will be opened by a performance by The Tiger Lillies. Their music is the soundtrack of the opening film of the festival “In Praise of Nothing” by Boris Mitic.
